EMMET – Hospice of Northwest Michigan has announced it has recently received 2 grants from the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation (PHSCF). The first grant will be used towards enhancing their Social Media plan and access to information and services. The second will be used to purchase more File of Life resources to give to the community during health fairs and other outreach opportunities. Amy Wieland, Executive Director, said the funding like this make all the difference in serving their community. “The social media enhancements will allow our organization to be accessible to the people looking for advanced education and resources regarding Hospice services in our area. Many children and grandchildren are now of the age to be the decision makers or end of life communication facilitators and 80% of these community members do their research online and through social media referrals.”
“We are extremely grateful to the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation for recognizing and supporting this social media outreach and for also understanding the investment value in the File of Life product,” Wieland said. PHSCF funding will allow Hospice of Northwest Michigan the ability to respond to our patients and families needs at a much higher level.
